Using a Newer Version of Blender?

There have been changes to Blender since this video tutorial was made. Fortunately, as of Blender version 2.78a, the changes that affect the video are minor. The relevantĀ changes are listed below.

  • The Add menu is now at the bottom – Or you can press Shift A.
  • At 13:26 – In the Spacing section, the entry box for Character is now called Letter.
  • AtĀ 17:30 – After clicking the Apply button, if the number object only shows the outline when it’s moved to the front, then press Ctrl Z twice to undo the last 2 operations. Now press S, then 1.01, then enter. Then in the entry box, select sphere.002 again. Then click the Apply button and drag the number to the front. If it’s still not right, then you may need to repeat these steps again.
  • At 22:54 – The default lamp may show up as a reflection in the pool balls. To prevent this, find the Lamp in the Outliner and click the button that looks like an eye and the button that looks like a camera. The Outliner is typically located at the top right.
